Who we are

WPLM-AM 1390 first launched in August of 1955. This 5,000 watt signal spanned the South Shore of Massachusetts and was America’s official hometown radio station, as coined by original owner, Jack Campbell.

The station went live with a Big Band format and featured radio personalities Fred Lang, John Chandler, Ed Marvin, Bud Pratt and Ray Hall. WPLM-AM 1390 over the years has been on-air, simulcasting sister station, WPLM-FM’s many formats including its years as the Boston Sports Flagship station for baseball and hockey.
